Archer Aviation Ties Up With Serbia to Expand Electric Air Taxi Plans Worldwide

Post by : Saif

Electric air taxi company Archer Aviation has taken another major step toward global expansion by partnering with Serbia to develop next-generation air travel. The agreement shows how countries and private companies are working together to create faster and cleaner ways to move people in busy cities.

Archer Aviation announced that Serbia will become its preferred partner for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, also known as eVTOL air taxis. The agreement was signed during the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland. Under this deal, Serbia has the option to buy an initial fleet of Archer’s Midnight aircraft, with plans to purchase up to 25 air taxis in total.

The Midnight aircraft is designed to fly short distances quietly and with zero direct emissions. It can take off and land vertically, like a helicopter, but is powered by electricity. Archer believes this technology can reduce traffic congestion and cut pollution in large cities.

Industry experts see the partnership as a positive step for Archer, especially as it adds potential aircraft orders to the company’s growing list. Analysts say that while the agreement is encouraging, it will be even more important for Archer to fully prove the aircraft’s performance and safety as it moves closer to commercial use.

Demand for electric air taxis is growing around the world. Many countries are looking for new transport options that are faster than cars and more environmentally friendly. Archer has already been working with several governments and cities to bring its services to international markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, and South Korea.

As part of the Serbia partnership, Archer will also serve as the official air taxi provider for EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. The global event will run from May to August 2027 and is expected to highlight advanced technologies and modern transportation systems. The use of electric air taxis during the event could give visitors a real-life look at the future of urban travel.

Archer has already gained attention on the world stage. Last year, the company was named the official air taxi provider for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, another sign of growing trust in its technology.

In addition to aircraft deployment, Archer and the Serbian government have begun discussions on deeper cooperation. These talks include possible work on industrial development, such as sourcing rare-earth magnets and critical minerals needed for electric batteries. This could help strengthen supply chains for clean energy technology in the future.

The partnership with Serbia marks another important milestone for Archer Aviation. As cities continue to search for smarter transport solutions, electric air taxis may soon become a common sight in the skies, changing how people travel in the years ahead.
