Blue Islands UK’s Least Punctual Airline in Q2 Logan Air Most Reliable

Post by : Armust Desk

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has revealed that Blue Islands, a Channel Islands-based airline, was the least punctual airline in the United Kingdom during the second quarter of 2025. Out of the 20 airlines studied, only 55% of Blue Islands’ flights arrived on time or were less than 15 minutes late. The figures also showed the airline faced a higher proportion of cancellations and long delays compared to other UK airlines.

Blue Islands operates around 9,000 flights annually, and the airline admitted that operational challenges had affected its performance. A spokesperson for Blue Islands said, “We clearly acknowledged back in May that operational issues – including industry-wide supply chain challenges and late delivery of aircraft – had seriously impacted our on-time performance in Q2.”

The airline added that a significant improvement is already underway and will be reflected in the next CAA report. For instance, in August 2025, of the airline’s 863 flights, 74% arrived on time, and 99% of scheduled flights were successfully operated. Blue Islands emphasized that it had previously ranked among the top airlines for punctuality in 2023.

Logan Air Tops Reliability

The report also highlighted Logan Air as the most reliable airline during the same period. About 85% of Logan Air’s flights arrived on schedule, making it the most punctual carrier among the 20 airlines studied by the CAA.

A Logan Air spokesperson shared news of expansion, saying, “We are delighted to be announcing another new route from our new Southampton base, linking this important coastal city to Jersey. We are also looking forward to supporting inbound tourism to Jersey, boosting the visitor economy and working closely with the local hospitality sector.”

Operational Challenges Impact Blue Islands

Blue Islands noted that supply chain problems and aircraft delivery delays had affected flight schedules during Q2. These challenges are not unique to Blue Islands but are part of broader issues affecting the aviation industry as a whole.

The airline’s spokesperson added, “Since addressing these operational challenges, we have seen marked improvements. Passengers can expect more consistent on-time performance in the coming months.”

What Passengers Can Expect

Passengers traveling with Blue Islands may have experienced delays and cancellations in Q2 2025, but the airline is actively working to resolve these issues. Meanwhile, Logan Air continues to provide reliable flight services and expand its routes, offering passengers more travel options and boosting connectivity in the UK and the Channel Islands.

The CAA report highlights the importance of airline reliability in ensuring smooth travel, maintaining passenger confidence, and supporting tourism and local economies.
