Bombardier’s Global 8000 Jet Cleared to Fly in the US After FAA Approval

Post by : Saif

Canadian aircraft maker Bombardier has reached a major milestone after its new Global 8000 business jet received certification from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The approval allows the jet to operate in US airspace and be delivered to American customers.

Bombardier said the Global 8000 is now officially certified in the United States, making it one of the most advanced private jets in the world. The aircraft is known for its speed and long-range capability and is being described as the fastest civilian plane since the famous Concorde stopped flying.

The Global 8000 has a top speed of Mach 0.95, which is about 729 miles per hour. This makes it the fastest business jet currently available. Bombardier says the aircraft combines speed, comfort, and long-distance performance, making it attractive to high-end customers who travel across continents.

Earlier this month, the Global 8000 officially entered service, meaning it is now ready for use by customers. Before the US approval, the jet had already received certification from Transport Canada, the country’s aviation regulator, on November 5, 2025. This cleared the aircraft to operate in Canada.

Bombardier is now waiting for approval from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Once that certification is granted, the Global 8000 will be able to fly freely across Europe as well, opening the door to a wider global market.

The aircraft is built to fly ultra-long distances, allowing nonstop travel between faraway cities. Bombardier has promoted the jet as a game-changer in private aviation, especially for business leaders and governments that value time-saving travel.

Industry experts say FAA certification is one of the most important steps for any aircraft maker because the US is one of the world’s largest and most tightly regulated aviation markets. Approval from the FAA often increases buyer confidence and helps boost sales.

With this latest certification, Bombardier has strengthened its position in the global business jet market. The company hopes the Global 8000 will set a new standard for speed and performance in private aviation.

As Bombardier waits for European approval, aviation watchers say the Global 8000’s success could signal a new era of faster, long-range civilian aircraft, even if supersonic passenger travel remains a thing of the past.
