Data Patterns (India) Ltd., a leading company in designing and manufacturing advanced electronics systems for defense and aerospace, has joined forces with Siemens Digital Industries Software. This collaboration focuses on implementing Siemens’ Teamcenter® and Polarion™ ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) software. The goal is to modernize Data Patterns’ product development process, streamline workflows, and ensure faster and more efficient creation of high-reliability, mission-critical electronics.
Purpose of the Collaboration
The partnership aims to standardize data, processes, and teams across all Data Patterns facilities. By adopting Siemens’ advanced digital solutions, Data Patterns seeks to create a single, unified platform where all design, development, and manufacturing teams can work together seamlessly. This approach will help reduce errors, enhance collaboration, and accelerate the development of new products for both defense and aerospace sectors.
Implementation of Teamcenter
Teamcenter will replace Data Patterns’ existing system and serve as a single source of truth for all engineering, software, and hardware data. This software allows teams to create “digital threads,” which means information flows smoothly between different departments in real-time. With Teamcenter, Data Patterns expects to shorten product development timelines, improve product quality, and bring new electronics systems to the market faster. This integration will connect mechanical, electrical, and electronic design teams under one platform, creating a consistent, efficient workflow.
Adoption of Polarion ALM
Alongside Teamcenter, Data Patterns will adopt Siemens’ Polarion ALM software to manage compliance and certification processes. Polarion ALM will automate critical steps and help ensure that aerospace and defense software meets strict certification standards, including safety rules for airborne electronics. The system will also assist in certifying components such as FPGAs, ASICs, and PLDs, aligning with industry design assurance standards. With Polarion ALM, Data Patterns will be able to identify and close gaps in verification, making their products safer and more reliable.
Statements from Company Leaders
Vijay Ananth, Chief Operating Officer of Data Patterns, said the company is confident that Siemens’ solutions will support its ambitious growth plans. He highlighted that the adoption of these technologies fits perfectly with Data Patterns’ vision of developing turnkey defense and aerospace systems that can compete on a global scale. He also emphasized that the new software will accelerate product development and improve engagement among all stakeholders, making it easier for teams to collaborate efficiently.
Mathew Thomas, Vice President and Managing Director for India at Siemens Digital Industries Software, praised the partnership. He said that Data Patterns is striving to become a leader in India’s defense and aerospace sectors while also building a global presence. By choosing Siemens’ scalable PLM and ALM solutions, Data Patterns is taking a major step toward achieving these goals.
Impact on the Industry
This partnership is an important milestone for India’s aerospace and defense industry. By integrating Siemens’ Teamcenter and Polarion ALM, Data Patterns will improve the quality, reliability, and certification of its products. The collaboration sets a new standard for product development in India and demonstrates the benefits of adopting advanced digital tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This move also contributes to India’s goal of self-reliance in defense technology by building more capable, homegrown systems.
The collaboration between Data Patterns and Siemens represents a major step forward in modernizing India’s aerospace and defense capabilities. By implementing Teamcenter and Polarion ALM software, Data Patterns is creating a unified, streamlined workflow for all teams involved in product development. This ensures faster delivery of high-quality, reliable electronics systems for mission-critical applications. The partnership also highlights the importance of advanced technology in strengthening national security and achieving self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
