French rotorcraft manufacturer Hélicoptères Guimbal is setting its sights on a much larger presence in the helicopter industry with the development of a new five-seat turbine aircraft called the Grand Cabri G5. Known globally for its compact two-seat Cabri G2 training helicopter, the company is now preparing to move into a higher segment of the market with a platform designed for broader operational roles and greater passenger capacity.

The move marks a major strategic step for Guimbal. For years, the company has built a reputation around the Cabri G2, a lightweight piston helicopter widely used by flight schools and private operators. By introducing the Grand Cabri G5, Guimbal aims to evolve from a single-model manufacturer into a developer of an entire family of modern rotorcraft.
