Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has revised the prices of its big bike portfolio in the country following the government’s updated GST rates for motorcycles with engine capacities above 350 cc. Models with smaller engine capacities have, conversely, seen a reduction in prices.
The adjustments impact several of Honda’s middle- and large-weight motorcycles currently available in India. Here’s a breakdown of the price changes:
Price Changes by Model
Rebel 500: Up ₹37,000
NX500 Adventure Tourer: Up to ₹43,000
CB750 Hornet: Up to ₹62,000
CB650R: Up to ₹70,000
CBR650R: Up to ₹76,000
XL750 Transalp: ₹81,000 hike
X-ADV (adventure-styled maxi-scooter): ₹88,000 hike
CB1000 Hornet SP: ₹93,000 hike
CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP (litre-class superbike): ₹2.19 lakh hike
GL1800 Gold Wing Tour (flagship model): ₹2.92 lakh hike
Background
The price revisions follow a GST realignment for motorcycles above 350 cc, which now attracts a higher tax rate. This change has affected the mid-size and premium segment bikes in Honda’s portfolio, which is reflected directly in the showroom prices.
Honda’s big bike portfolio in India ranges from the entry-level Rebel 500 to the flagship GL1800 Gold Wing Tour, catering to enthusiasts across the adventure, sport, and touring segments.
The company has not only updated prices in line with GST changes but also maintains its competitive positioning in the Indian premium motorcycle market.
