Hyundai India EV Network Powers 23 Lakh Units Cuts 16 Lakh kg CO₂

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has reached a remarkable milestone in the development of its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in India. As of September 2025, Hyundai's EV charging network has successfully delivered over 23 lakh units of clean energy. This energy has been distributed across more than 1.8 lakh charging sessions, contributing to the reduction of 16 lakh kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions. This is a significant step towards promoting sustainable mobility and supporting India’s efforts to reduce carbon footprints from transportation.

The company’s efforts in expanding EV infrastructure demonstrate Hyundai's commitment to building a strong and reliable EV ecosystem in the country. This initiative is helping everyday EV users access convenient, fast, and safe charging solutions while also encouraging more people to switch from fossil-fuel-powered vehicles to electric vehicles.

Expansion of EV Charging Network Across India

Hyundai India has steadily expanded its EV network in recent years. By August 2025, the company had installed 119 public fast charging stations across India. These stations are strategically located along busy highways, in major cities, and at Hyundai dealerships to ensure maximum convenience for EV users.

Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to increase the number of public fast chargers to 600 stations across the country. This expansion is aimed at supporting EV users on long journeys and reducing the “range anxiety” that many potential EV owners experience. In addition to charging stations, Hyundai has extended its EV retail presence to 542 outlets in 238 cities, ensuring that EV customers have easy access to both vehicles and charging infrastructure.

Commitment to Clean Energy and Sustainability

Hyundai has always focused on sustainable mobility solutions, and its EV network plays a crucial role in this mission. Hyundai’s EV and battery technology expertise has enabled the company to launch advanced EV models, including the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric, which are designed to provide excellent performance, efficiency, and reliability.

According to Hyundai’s corporate planning team, these efforts are part of a larger strategy to accelerate EV adoption in India. By providing a robust network of fast chargers, the company ensures that EV owners can travel without worrying about running out of battery power. Hyundai aims to make its EV charging stations accessible to all EV users, not just Hyundai owners, supporting India’s broader goal of reducing carbon emissions and promoting electric mobility.

Enhancing Customer Experience with Technology

Hyundai India is focused on improving the EV experience for its customers. Its charging stations have achieved over 97% uptime, meaning they are highly reliable and available for use at almost all times.

To make charging even easier, Hyundai launched the myHyundai app, which allows EV users to locate over 20,000 charging points across Hyundai and partner networks. The app also provides features like booking charging slots, digital payments, and real-time updates. Additionally, Hyundai introduced Hyundai Pay, the first in-car payment system for EV charging in India. This service is already available at more than 1,200 charging points, allowing customers to pay for charging seamlessly without needing any external apps or cash.

These initiatives show Hyundai’s focus on combining advanced technology, convenience, and sustainability to create a better experience for all EV users.

Open Access for All Electric Vehicle Users

Hyundai’s EV charging stations are open to all EV users, regardless of vehicle brand. This approach helps build a wider EV ecosystem in India and encourages more people to adopt electric mobility. By making chargers accessible to every EV owner, Hyundai is contributing to India’s carbon neutrality goals and helping reduce the environmental impact of transportation across the country.

Future Plans and Vision

Hyundai India plans to continue expanding its EV infrastructure in the coming years. The company is investing heavily in new EV models, advanced battery technologies, and fast-charging infrastructure. These steps align with India’s vision of mass adoption of electric vehicles and a greener transportation system.

Through these efforts, Hyundai aims to lead India’s EV revolution, making clean, sustainable mobility a reality for millions of drivers. By offering reliable chargers, advanced EV models, and convenient technology solutions, Hyundai is ensuring that owning and using an electric vehicle becomes a hassle-free experience for all Indians.
