The Civil Aviation Minister of India, Kinnarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, inaugurated Yatri Seva Diwas 2025 on September 17, a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing the overall experience of air travelers across the country. This effort aligns with broader government goals to improve passenger services and promote public welfare.
Key Highlights:
Health Awareness and Medical Services: Free health check-up camps were organized at major airports, with special attention to women’s health, ensuring travelers have access to essential medical support.
Cultural Programs and Traditional Welcome: Airports welcomed passengers with traditional rituals, including a tilak and sweets. Cultural performances, art competitions, and quizzes for children were conducted to make the experience more engaging.
Community Service Activities: Eye check-up camps for taxi and auto drivers, blood donation drives, and tree plantation activities were part of the celebrations, promoting community welfare.
Career Guidance for Youth: Students received guidance on career opportunities in the aviation sector through dedicated sessions at airports.
Minister’s Statement:
Minister Naidu emphasized, “Yatri Seva Diwas reflects our commitment to passengers. It is inspired by the principle of public service, focusing on people’s welfare.” He noted that passenger numbers have grown from around 110 million in 2014 to 250 million today. He highlighted that Hindon Airport, which had only one flight in 2020, is now connected to 16 cities.
Future Plans:
The ministry plans to equip all airports with Wi-Fi under the Digital India initiative, enhancing connectivity for travelers. Programs like “Digi Travel,” “Flyer Cafes,” and “Flybraries” are also planned to further improve passenger experiences at airports.
Yatri Seva Diwas 2025 marks a significant milestone for Indian aviation, prioritizing passenger welfare, health, and community service while strengthening the overall airport experience nationwide.
