MJets Air, a Malaysia-based cargo airline, has recently launched a new freighter service connecting Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. The service is designed to improve air cargo operations between India and Malaysia and provide businesses with faster, more reliable transport of goods. This new connection also reflects the growing trade and logistics demand between the two countries.
The new route is part of MJets Air’s strategic expansion in Asia, aiming to offer enhanced connectivity and better cargo management solutions for exporters and importers in both regions.
Service Details and Flight Schedule
The new Mumbai–Kuala Lumpur service operates with the Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft, which offers a cargo capacity of approximately 20 tonnes. The flights are scheduled twice a week, ensuring smooth and consistent cargo movement for businesses.
The flight schedule is as follows:
From Kuala Lumpur to Mumbai: Departs at 18:30 hours and arrives in Mumbai at 22:00 hours.
From Mumbai to Kuala Lumpur: Departs at 22:30 hours and arrives the next day at 06:30 hours.
These timings are planned to help cargo move efficiently, meeting the needs of both Indian and Malaysian businesses. Companies can rely on this service to deliver products on time, which is crucial for trade, e-commerce, and perishable goods.
Fleet and Operations
MJets Air operates a fleet of six Boeing 737 freighters, including five 737-800Fs and one 737-400F. The airline has an average fleet age of around 20 years. Its fleet is capable of handling various cargo types, including general goods, e-commerce parcels, and specialized freight.
The airline has obtained a Cargo Terminal Operation license and operates from a large cargo terminal covering over 265,000 square feet. This facility can process up to 225,000 tonnes of cargo annually, ensuring fast and efficient handling of shipments.
India Operations and Partnerships
For its India operations, MJets Air has partnered with Menteiz Air Cargo GSA Private Limited, which acts as the General Sales Agent (GSA). This partnership ensures smooth cargo handling in India and allows businesses to easily book and manage shipments.
Menteiz Air Cargo GSA handles documentation, cargo booking, and customer support, making the process seamless for Indian exporters and importers.
MJets Air’s Asian Network
MJets Air already operates an extensive network across Asia. Its destinations include major cargo hubs in Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. In India, it connects cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, Cochin, Trichy, and Mumbai.
This wide network allows MJets Air to provide scheduled cargo services across multiple regions, supporting trade and logistics growth throughout Asia. By connecting smaller cargo hubs with major cities, the airline strengthens trade opportunities and promotes faster movement of goods.
Impact and Future Plans
The Mumbai–Kuala Lumpur freighter service is expected to play a key role in boosting cargo capacity and improving trade efficiency between India and Malaysia. Businesses involved in exports and imports will benefit from reduced transit times, more reliable service, and better access to international markets.
MJets Air aims to continue expanding its network, adding more routes in Asia to meet growing demand for cargo services. The airline’s focus on modern fleet management, efficient operations, and timely deliveries positions it as a significant player in the regional air cargo sector.
