Europe’s offshore energy sector has taken a significant leap forward as Damen and Windcat officially launch a new generation of Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), marking a critical milestone in maritime innovation. The introduction of the first vessel in the Elevation series, Windcat Amsterdam, signals a strategic shift toward more efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced offshore support operations. As offshore wind projects scale rapidly across Europe, vessels like these are becoming indispensable to ensure seamless construction, commissioning, and long-term maintenance.
The newly launched CSOV is built specifically to meet the complex demands of offshore energy operations. Acting as a floating operational base, the vessel is capable of supporting large teams of technicians and engineers while facilitating safe and efficient access to offshore wind installations.
