June 24, 2025 | New Delhi — In a significant stride toward clean mobility, NueGo, the intercity electric bus brand operated by GreenCell Mobility, has announced a major expansion of its services across India. The move not only reinforces the company’s vision of sustainable transportation but also marks a pivotal moment in India’s journey toward zero-emission long-distance travel.
Having already established a strong presence on popular routes such as Delhi–Chandigarh, Delhi–Jaipur, and Chennai–Puducherry, NueGo is now expanding its footprint to several new city pairs including Bangalore–Tirupati, Indore–Bhopal, Hyderabad–Vijayawada, and Pune–Mumbai. This expansion reflects the company’s growing confidence in India's readiness for electric intercity travel and its ambition to transform the long-haul bus segment.
NueGo buses, fully electric and equipped with modern amenities, aim to offer passengers not just an eco-friendly ride, but also a premium travel experience. Each coach features comfortable seating, Wi-Fi, charging ports, CCTV surveillance, and air purification systems, appealing to travelers seeking convenience, safety, and sustainability in one package.
With a growing fleet of electric coaches and dedicated charging infrastructure at key depots and terminals, NueGo’s operational model is built on high availability, fast turnaround, and minimal emissions. The company claims its e-buses are capable of covering over 250 kilometers on a single charge, with efficient overnight charging ensuring uninterrupted daily service.
This expansion aligns with India’s national objectives under the FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) policy and the broader net-zero emission targets set for 2070. By targeting the underserved but high-potential intercity segment, NueGo fills a crucial gap in India’s clean mobility landscape, where most electric initiatives have focused on intra-city travel so far.
“Electric mobility cannot be limited to city boundaries. With our growing intercity network, we are enabling passengers to make sustainable travel choices even for long distances,” said a GreenCell Mobility spokesperson.
While the intercity e-bus ecosystem still faces challenges such as charging infrastructure standardization, range anxiety, and higher upfront vehicle costs, NueGo’s continued growth is proof of early success. The company is working with state governments, power utilities, and private partners to establish smart charging hubs along its routes to ensure reliable service.
As fuel prices remain volatile and environmental concerns grow, demand for clean alternatives in public transport is expected to accelerate. NueGo's aggressive rollout strategy positions it as a first-mover in this evolving space and a leader in shaping India's green transport future.
With this expansion, NueGo is doing more than just adding routes—it is redefining the very experience of intercity travel in India. Quiet, clean, and efficient, its electric buses offer a compelling vision of what sustainable mobility can look like when backed by innovation and infrastructure.
As more passengers hop on board for the ride, NueGo stands at the forefront of India’s electric highway revolution.
