Volvo has officially launched its all-new EX30 electric SUV in the Indian market, marking it as the most affordable model in the brand’s lineup in the country. The vehicle is priced at ₹41 lakh (ex-showroom), while a special festive pre-reservation offer of ₹39.99 lakh is available for bookings made before 19 October 2025.

The EX30 is expected to make an impact in the rapidly growing electric vehicle segment in India, appealing to consumers seeking a combination of performance, premium features, and Volvo’s signature safety technology.

Design and Exterior

The Volvo EX30 follows the brand’s modern Scandinavian design philosophy, reflecting similarities to its siblings in the EV lineup. Its styling highlights include:

  • A closed-off front grille emphasizes its electric powertrain.

  • Slim LED headlights with signature Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights.

  • Pixelated rear lights give a futuristic touch.

  • Aerodynamic wheels specifically engineered for electric efficiency.

  • The charging port is conveniently located on the rear left quarter panel.

The SUV’s compact dimensions, paired with these design elements, create a sophisticated yet sporty presence on the road.

Interior and Cabin Features

Inside, the EX30 embraces a minimalist Swedish aesthetic, characterized by clean lines and intuitive technology. Key interior highlights include:

  • A 12.3-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen operating on a Google-based system.

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

  • A streamlined dashboard and newly designed steering wheel.

  • Minimalist cabin layout focused on comfort and ergonomics.

Volvo has maintained its focus on premium comfort, using high-quality materials and well-thought-out spatial design to enhance the driving experience.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Volvo continues its legacy of safety with the EX30, equipping it with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and passive safety features:

  • 360-degree camera system for enhanced visibility.

  • Multiple airbags throughout the cabin.

  • ADAS technologies, including lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.

These features aim to provide both driver confidence and passenger protection, reinforcing Volvo’s safety-first approach.

Performance and Powertrain

Built on Geely’s SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, the EX30 for India is powered by a single-motor electric setup tailored to local market needs. Specifications include:

  • Battery pack: 69 kWh (India-specific), offering a 480 km range (WLTP cycle) per charge.

  • Motor output: 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque.

  • Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.

  • Top speed: 180 km/h.

While the international EX30 offers three battery options, India receives a single configuration optimized for performance, range, and local charging infrastructure.

Charging and Connectivity

The EX30’s charging system is designed to accommodate India’s growing EV infrastructure, with rapid charging support to minimize downtime. The vehicle’s Google-based infotainment system allows drivers to access navigation, media, and connected apps seamlessly, while wireless smartphone integration adds to convenience.

Market Positioning

At an introductory price of ₹41 lakh, and with the festive pre-booking offer of ₹39.99 lakh, Volvo positions the EX30 as a premium yet accessible electric SUV. It competes with other luxury EVs in India, combining efficiency, performance, and Volvo’s renowned safety standards.

With growing interest in electric mobility and a supportive EV policy environment, the EX30 is expected to strengthen Volvo’s presence in the Indian electric vehicle market.

The Volvo EX30 blends stylish Scandinavian design, advanced technology, strong performance, and top-tier safety into a compact electric SUV package. Its Indian launch, coupled with a festive pre-booking offer, makes it a compelling choice for buyers seeking a premium EV experience without venturing into the upper luxury price brackets.
