June 26, 2025 | London/New Delhi — Dyson, the British technology brand known for revolutionizing household appliances, has once again set a new standard in design and functionality with the launch of the PencilVac — the world’s slimmest vacuum cleaner to date. As the name suggests, the PencilVac boasts an ultra-thin form factor, roughly the width of a pencil, and is aimed at consumers living in compact urban spaces who value sleek aesthetics without compromising on cleaning power.
This innovative product combines Dyson’s legendary suction performance with space-saving engineering, making it ideal for modern apartments, small homes, and minimalist interiors.
At the heart of the PencilVac is Dyson’s latest HyperDyne Slim motor, a next-generation miniaturized motor that delivers high-efficiency suction in an incredibly thin housing. Despite its size, the device packs a punch — engineered to remove fine dust, pet hair, and allergens from tight spaces, including corners, upholstery, and under furniture.
Weighing just under 1.2 kg and measuring only 18mm in width, the PencilVac is small enough to be stored in a drawer or mounted inconspicuously on a wall. It features a detachable wand, a crevice tool, and a compact charging dock — all designed to save space and enhance convenience.
With rising demand for compact and efficient home solutions — especially in space-constrained cities like Mumbai, Tokyo, and New York — Dyson’s PencilVac is positioned to capture a growing market segment. Its form factor makes it perfect for studio apartments, student housing, and even car interiors, where conventional vacuum cleaners often feel bulky and impractical.
Dyson’s engineers took on the challenge of reducing both volume and weight without compromising airflow dynamics, noise levels, or battery life. As a result, PencilVac offers up to 40 minutes of runtime on a single charge, thanks to a custom-designed lithium-ion battery optimized for lightweight portability.
PencilVac includes smart-sensor cleaning technology, which adjusts suction based on surface type — from hardwood floors to low-pile rugs and countertops. A small LED panel displays battery life and maintenance alerts, while the dustbin features Dyson’s signature hygienic one-click emptying mechanism.
Its minimalistic design, finished in matte graphite and brushed silver, reflects Dyson’s continued commitment to combining form with function. As with its previous models, the PencilVac was designed using aerospace-grade materials to ensure durability with minimal bulk.
PencilVac is now available in select markets including the UK, US, India, and Japan, with a global rollout scheduled in phases over the coming months. In India, the product will be sold online and through Dyson’s experience stores, priced at approximately ₹29,900.
Early reviews from tech insiders and lifestyle influencers praise the PencilVac’s portability, performance, and elegance, calling it “a game-changer for small-space living.” Dyson is also expected to release additional accessories for the PencilVac, such as a fabric cleaning nozzle and modular storage case.
