easyJet Finishes Key A320 Software Updates After Airbus Issues Global Recall

Post by : Saif

UK-based airline easyJet announced that it has already completed the required software updates on many of its Airbus A320 aircraft, following a global recall issued by Airbus. The recall, announced on Friday, affected thousands of A320 jets worldwide and forced airlines everywhere to check their planes before they could continue flying.

The recall came after Airbus instructed airlines to immediately install new software or return to an older version to ensure safe operations. Many carriers across the world reported delays and possible cancellations as they rushed to complete the update. The fix must be applied before any affected aircraft is cleared for takeoff, which created concern heading into one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

easyJet, however, moved quickly. The airline confirmed that a large number of its A320 planes have already been updated and are ready to fly. Because of this early action, the airline said it expects to run its Saturday flight schedule as normal. It also encouraged passengers to keep checking their flight status on the official flight tracker for any last-minute changes.

The airline stressed that passenger safety remains its top priority. By completing the updates promptly, easyJet is working to avoid major disruptions that other airlines are still struggling with. Many global carriers—such as American Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, and Air New Zealand—reported cancellations, schedule changes, and delays due to the recall.

Airbus’s recall applies to around 6,000 A320 jets, more than half of all A320 aircraft currently in service worldwide. The action is one of the largest technical recalls the aviation industry has seen recently. While the fix is mainly software-related, Airbus instructed airlines not to operate the planes until the update is installed.

Because the A320 family is one of the most widely used aircraft models globally, any recall affects millions of passengers. easyJet’s quick response helped limit the impact on its customers, especially during a high-traffic travel period. The airline thanked its engineering teams for working rapidly to complete the updates across its fleet.

Passengers planning to travel with easyJet in the coming days are still advised to stay alert and check for updates, even though the airline does not expect major disruptions. With global airlines facing delays, international connecting flights may still experience some movement.

For now, easyJet is one of the few airlines able to continue normal operations shortly after the recall, offering some relief to travelers who were worried about weekend flight problems.
