ITS Logistics has launched its new Retail Logistics Hubs to strengthen its retail services, leveraging a broad network of transportation partners and carriers. The initiative aims to help retailers navigate tariff volatility while meeting consumer demands for faster delivery.
Inbound freight can move to these hubs via ports, rail ramps, or upstream distribution centers, using ITS-operated assets such as drop trailer pools and vetted truckload and LTL partners. Outbound shipments can utilize parcel carriers to reach consumers quickly, supporting e-commerce fulfillment.
The company’s flexible model allows it to scale operations during seasonal surges, manage smaller and faster orders, and provide nationwide coverage efficiently. Unlike traditional asset-heavy carriers, ITS Logistics adapts to demand patterns, and unlike pure brokers, it maintains operational control through a vetted carrier network and robust fraud prevention measures.
By positioning inventory closer to customers, the Retail Hubs reduce fulfillment times and provide retailers with agility in response to shifting tariffs and consumer behavior. The hubs are strategically located to reach 95% of the U.S. population within two days.
Other carriers, like Schneider National, are also combining third-party logistics services with asset-based fleets to remain competitive. Services such as power-only solutions, where carriers provide trucks and drivers to move pre-loaded trailers, have seen significant growth amid these operational shifts.
