Overland Aviation Raises $20K at Williston Plane Pull & Fly-In Event

Post by : Meena Rani

Overland Aviation, in collaboration with Williston Basin International Airport (KXWA) and Make-A-Wish North Dakota, successfully raised over $20,000 during the first-ever Williston Plane Pull and Fly-In Movie. The fundraiser brought together aviation enthusiasts and families for a day of fun, competition, and community support.

Plane Pull Competition Steals the Spotlight

The highlight of the event was the plane pull competition, the first of its kind in Williston. Six teams competed to pull a Sun Country Airlines Boeing 737 for 100 feet across the airport ramp. The activity combined teamwork, strength, and a spirit of friendly rivalry, creating an exciting spectacle for participants and spectators alike.

Family Fun and Fly-In Movie Experience

Following the competition, families gathered in Overland Aviation’s hangar to watch the animated film Planes on a large screen. The evening featured live entertainment, family activities, and refreshments, making it a memorable community event for all ages.

Supporting Make-A-Wish North Dakota

Tanner Overland, President and Founder of Overland Aviation, emphasized the charitable purpose of the event:

“This event was a true example of our aviation community coming together for a cause bigger than ourselves. We’re grateful to work alongside Williston Basin International Airport, Make-A-Wish North Dakota, and Sun Country Airlines to raise funds and awareness for this life-changing mission.”

The funds raised will help grant wishes for children in North Dakota facing critical illnesses, highlighting the meaningful impact of community collaboration.
