According to Deepak Maloo, Vice-President of Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, the aim of this service is to “free passengers from the limits of pantry cars and rushed station snack runs.”

He explained that the new system addresses some of the most common problems faced by railway travelers:

• Lack of variety in the food menu.

• Concerns about hygiene and quality.

With Swiggy’s entry into this space, passengers now have access to trusted partner restaurants that deliver quality meals at their seats.
