TVS King Kargo HD EV Raises Bar for Cargo Three-Wheeler

Urban logistics in India is undergoing a transformation. On August 21, TVS Motor Company unveiled its latest offering: the King Kargo HD EV—a purpose-built electric three-wheeler designed to revamp last-mile cargo delivery. Priced at ₹3.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), this EV stakes its claim in the commercial mobility space with advanced features, smart connectivity, and operator-focused design.

Purpose-Built for Urban & Semi-Urban Cargo Needs

TVS targeted both city streets and semi-urban roads when engineering this vehicle. Powered by an efficient 8.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, the King Kargo HD EV delivers a range of 156 km per charge. Operators can expect a top speed of 60 km/h, suiting city pace while carrying substantial loads. Its 6.6 ft load deck, supported by a leaf spring suspension, promises stability under weight—while its quick-charge time of just over three hours means more uptime and fewer idle hours.

Smart Performance Under Load with Power Gear Mode

One standout feature is the Power Gear Mode—an exclusive option that boosts torque when the vehicle is heavily loaded. This selective performance boost ensures consistent maneuverability and efficiency, even on climbs or packed runs. Coupled with features like a low loading height of 703 mm, a tight turning radius of 3.42 m, and a robust 200 mm drum brake setup, the Kargo HD EV is a tool built for real-world delivery challenges.

Elevated Operator Comfort and Safety

TVS hasn’t overlooked the user. The cargo cabin is spacious, ventilated via rolling windows, and trimmed for both aesthetics and comfort. Safety sees a leap forward with LED head- and tail-lamps for better visibility and twin-axis rear-view mirrors that widen the operator’s view in dense traffic. With a high wading capacity of 500 mm and 235 mm ground clearance, this EV tackles flooded streets and pothole-laden roads with ease.

Data-Driven Efficiency via Smart Connectivity

Connectivity is at the core of the King Kargo HD EV. It is the first Bluetooth-enabled cargo three-wheeler in India, enabled by TVS’s SmartXonnect platform that offers 26 intelligent features. For fleet managers, TVS Connect Fleetdelivers 31 functions like real-time tracking, remote vehicle controls, API integrations, customized alerts, reports, and dashboards—all aimed at operational efficiency and reduced downtime.

Long-Term Trust with Industry-Leading Warranty

TVS backs this product with a standout 6-year or 1.5 lakh km warranty, showcasing the brand’s confidence in its durability and reliability. This added assurance is critical for fleet operators and small businesses seeking long-lived, low-maintenance vehicles.

Region-Wise Rollout Strategy

The initial phase of the launch covers Delhi NCR, Rajasthan, and Bengaluru—areas with dense logistics needs and aggressive fleet growth. Within the quarter, TVS plans to expand reach into tier-II and tier-III cities, addressing broader logistics ecosystems and building scale.

CNG Variant to Follow in 2025

Recognizing different customer needs, TVS also previewed a CNG variant of the King Kargo HD—expected launch later this year. This gives fleet operators flexibility while transitioning to cleaner alternatives.

A Future Where Cargo Mobility Goes Electric

TVS’s announcement isn’t just about another EV launch—it signals a deeper shift. According to company leaders, 50–60% of India’s three-wheeler market could be electric by 2030. With this launch, TVS joins the driving force accelerating that transition—offering cost-effective, connected, and capable options to replace older, pollution-heavy fleets.

 Setting New Benchmarks

The TVS King Kargo HD EV brings more than transport—it delivers smart logistics, safer work environments, and long-term return on investment for operators. By marrying charging speed, ride comfort, connected control, and strong build into one competitive package, TVS is raising the bar for cargo vehicles in India.
