Green Signal for Subway Linking Rail Station and Bus Stand in Ambala Cantt

Post by : Saif

A long-pending demand of the people of Ambala Cantt is finally moving forward. Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij has announced that all required No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have been issued for the construction of a subway linking the Ambala Cantt railway station and the nearby bus stand.

Ambala Cantt is a busy transport hub. Every day, thousands of passengers use the railway station and bus stand to travel to different parts of Haryana, Punjab, and other states. At present, people have to cross crowded roads or walk long distances to move between the two places. This often causes traffic jams, delays, and safety risks, especially for elderly people, women, and children.

The proposed subway will provide a safe and direct underground passage for passengers. Once completed, travelers will be able to move easily between the railway station and the bus stand without crossing busy roads. This will save time and reduce stress for daily commuters and visitors.

Minister Anil Vij said that issuing the NOCs was an important step to ensure the project does not face further delays. He has been closely involved in pushing for better infrastructure in Ambala Cantt, especially projects that improve public convenience and safety. With the NOCs cleared, the concerned departments can now move ahead with construction work.

This project is also expected to improve traffic flow in the area. Vehicles often slow down or stop near the station because of heavy pedestrian movement. The subway will reduce this problem and make roads safer for drivers as well.

Beyond convenience, the subway reflects a broader need for planned urban development. As cities grow, infrastructure must keep pace with rising population and travel needs. Projects like this show how small but smart changes can make a big difference in daily life.

Residents of Ambala Cantt have welcomed the decision and hope the construction will begin soon and be completed on time. If executed properly, the subway will stand as a practical example of people-focused development.

In the long run, such connectivity projects help build safer, more organized, and commuter-friendly cities. The Ambala Cantt subway could become a model for similar projects in other busy towns across the state.
